Medallion’s Jim Radcliffe is certified by the International Code Council (I.C.C.), the organization that establishes building codes used by virtually every governmental jurisdiction worldwide. The ICC was established in 1994 by the merger of CABO and the Southern Building Code Conference. His ICC/CABO inspection credentials include Residential Building Inspector, Residential Electrical Inspector, Residential Mechanical Inspector, and Residential Plumbing Inspector, ICC member number 5240938. In addition, Jim is a member of the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists.  Jim was also a member of the ASHI National Standards committee that establishes the standards of practice followed by professional inspectors throughout the US and Canada, and a former member of the board of directors of the Georgia Association of Home Inspectors. He completed course work in the home inspection methods with the Georgia Association of Home Inspectors. His inspections are performed to the high standards of practice developed by ASHI.

Jim established his roots in the Atlanta real estate community as builder of custom and semi-custom homes. In addition, during his career, Radcliffe was Vice President of Business Operations in North America for Equant, the largest data communications company in the world, now called the Orange Business Services division of France Telecom. In this role his team was responsible for inspecting more than 15,000 orders and change orders every year to make sure they met contractual, regulatory, pricing and service requirements. He was also responsible for annual target setting, the sales compensation plan, implementing sales commissions, and built a world-class team responsible for establishing and maintaining quality control over the customer experience. He was the senior management chairman of the Council of Leaders, a recognition program for top performing employees throughout the nation.

He has conducted more than 5,700 residential and light commercial inspections in the metropolitan Atlanta area since 2004 of properties valued at more than $1.9 Billion.  About half of the houses inspected have been new homes, performing pre-drywall, final construction, and one year warranty inspections for home buyers. They have included small condominiums, normal ranch and two story houses, and even a 27,000 square foot mansion for a celebrity.  Mr. Radcliffe attended Penn State University as an architecture student, and is a graduate of Ursinus College with a degree in Business Administration. He also attended Southern Polytechnic State University, taking courses in Computer Science. Jim is also a licensed commercial pilot with single and multi-engine ratings, and flies radio controlled model airplanes with the Georgia Model Aviators. In his free time, Jim can be found at horse shows supporting his daughter’s equestrian family, including competitive hunter-jumper granddaughters. Most recently, Jim has become an avid rower, and was elected vice president of the board of directors of the Lake Lanier Rowing Club, based in the Lake Lanier Olympic Tower in Gainesville, Georgia.

Medallion Inspections’ Joe Bettez is a graduate of the Georgia Association of Home Inspectors (GAHI) Training Academy. He is certified by the International Code Council (ICC/CABO) as a Residential Building Inspector. He is also a Certified Inspector by the American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI), the original and leading professional organization for home inspectors in the United States. Joe has also been certified by the American Concrete Institute as a concrete inspector, and has more than twenty four years experience conducting residential, commercial, and municipal inspections. Prior to becoming a full time home inspector in 2004, he worked for consulting engineering firms conducting inspections of residential footings and foundations, waterproofing inspections, soils and asphalt testing at the Orlando and Atlanta International Airports, and testing of paint, framing, windows, carpet and concrete materials for residential builders. When customers see him climb the roof of the home they hope to buy, they nickname him Spider Man!

Joe has conducted more than 25,000 single component commercial and residential inspections working for consulting engineering companies. He has also completed more than 5,700 residential and light commercial inspections throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area during recent years of properties valued at more than $1.9 Billion.  He is a graduate of Pinellas Technical Institute in Clearwater, Florida, with a degree in Architectural and Civil Engineering, and an avid bicyclist.
